Kentucky highway shooting manhunt ends after suspect’s body found: police

From Global News.

Kentucky State police say they believe they have found the body of suspected gunman Joseph Couch who went on a highway shooting spree that left five people wounded almost two weeks ago.

The body was found by state troopers and two civilians during the manhunt in Laurel County on Wednesday, and officials are now working to confirm the identity of the body.

Fred and Shelia McCoy said they’d been out searching for Couch for the past six days, and it all started as a “date night” idea.

"There were about 50 vultures up there so we got our boots and started on over the hill and got way down there," Fred said, stating that the foul odour led them to find the decomposed body.
