Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew is joining other premiers in condemning a Supreme Court of Canada ruling that struck down the mandatory one-year minimum sentence for child pornography offences.

Kinew says those convicted of such crimes should face harsher punishment, echoing calls from Ontario and Alberta for Ottawa to invoke the notwithstanding clause.
