From Global News.
A Toronto mother who was the victim of an armed home invasion says she has barely slept in the past six days and plans to move out of her dream home.
Maryam Alavinasab says four masked suspects broke into her home at York Mills Road and Leslie Street while she and her two daughters slept. She says she woke up to find two men standing over her head.
“I remember that somebody put a gun on my neck and asked me, ‘where is the safe?,’ she said.
Alavinasab added that after eventually convincing the suspects that she had no safe, they fled the home with handbags, jewelry and money.
As Global’s Catherine McDonald reports, she says her daughter called 911 but spent several minutes on hold while the thieves were still inside.
