On the day Syria’s government collapsed last year, a landmine killed Rayaan’s parents and cost the 12-year-old her leg. Now she’s rebuilding her life with a prosthetic, and at one of Syria’s few prosthetics centers she’s taking her first steps toward the future she hopes will fulfill her father’s dream.
