From DW News.
Since the summer, the number of young Ukrainian men arriving in Germany has surged dramatically.
The news agency AFP, citing the German Interior Ministry, reports that in August only 19 Ukrainians aged 18 to 22 arrived per week. By September, that number had jumped to 1,000 weekly, and in October, it soared further to between 1,400 and nearly 1,800 per week.
The main reason for this increase is that the Ukrainian government changed exit regulations at the end of August, allowing men aged 18 to 22 to leave the country freely. Previous to that decision all men of military age were required to remain in Ukraine.
