Iran warns US that ‘we are just getting started’ after attacks in Strait of Hormuz | BBC News

From BBC News.

The speaker of the Iranian parliament has warned the US that "we are just getting started" after attacks on Monday in the Strait of Hormuz.

Mohammad Ghalibaf – who was the top negotiator in last month’s talks with the US – said “we know well that the continuation of the status quo is intolerable for America”, in a post on X on Tuesday morning in Persian.

US President Donald Trump’s "Project Freedom", which began on Monday, aims to use the US military to guide stranded cargo ships out of the key waterway.

But Iran insisted that it controls the strait – and on Monday fired missiles and drones at military and commercial ships, according to the US.
