AfD party set to perform strongly in Brandenburg state election | DW News

On Sunday, voters in the eastern German state of Brandenburg will go to the polls in a regional election. The far-right, anti-immigration Alternative for Germany — or AfD — is hoping for another strong showing. It’s a tight race — the AfD looks to be just ahead of the incumbent Social Democrats. Part of the reason for that is the party’s popularity amongst younger voters. So what’s driving that support? DW’s Political Correspondent Matthew Moore went to the city of Eberswalde, north of Berlin to find out.
