From Global News.
Following the death of former Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, the Shiite militant group’s acting leader has vowed to continue battling Israel and has said it is prepared for a long fight.
Israeli strikes killed Nasrallah and six of his top commanders and officials in the last 10 days. Thousands of militant targets across Lebanon have also been hit, according to Israel’s military.
Israel’s stated goal is to make its northern areas safe from Hezbollah rocket fire and to allow thousands of displaced residents to return.
But in the relentless barrage of rockets fired between Israel and Hezbollah, border communities on both sides are caught in the crossfire. Global’s Jeff Semple visited one small city on the Israel-Lebanon border which is desperately hoping for a homecoming.
