Auto theft in Canada drops 19% as CBSA intercepts nearly 2K stolen vehicles

From Global News.

Just five months after Canada rolled out its action plan to combat auto theft, Transport Minister Anita Anand said on Wednesday that there’s been a 19 per cent drop in auto theft in the first six months of the year.

Anand also noted that the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) intercepted more than 1,900 stolen vehicles in railways and ports over the same time period.

It’s welcome news for a government that has been slammed for being "soft on crime" for more than a year.
Global’s Seán O’Shea reports.
