US President Joe Biden has resumed campaigning after a brief pause following the attempted assassination of his political rival Donald Trump. In a speech in Las Vegas, Biden repeated his appeal to turn down the heat in American politics. But he said it was time for a conversation about violence in the US. And he called for a ban on the type of gun used in the attempt on Trump’s life.
