Biden had “bad night” at presidential debate — not Alzheimer’s or dementia: White House

From Global News.

At the daily press briefing in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, the White House defended U.S. President Joe Biden’s performance during last week’s debate against former U.S. President Donald Trump, attributing it to a “bad night.”

“He had a bad night,” said White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. "We are admitting that, owning up to that — you heard the president speak to that.”

“At the end of the day… the American people will see for themselves,” Jean-Pierre added. “This is a president that has worked incredibly hard for the American people.”

She also said that the 81-year-old president has annual health checks and that the administration regularly releases reports on his health, denying that Biden has “Alzheimer’s, any form of dementia or degenerative illness” in response to a reporter’s question.
