Calgary moves to stabilization phase as Alberta Health Services approves water quality

From Global News.

Calgary officials have reported that the process of restoring water services is nearing completion following the break of the water feeder main in Bowness on June 5.

Mayor Jyoti Gondek announced on Sunday that Alberta Health Services has completed testing the water quality in the pipes and has given the green light for the city to move to the next step of the stabilization process.

Gondek described the stabilization process as the step that "involves the greatest amount of risk."

"We are going slowly and cautiously to ensure that turning valves and pumps back on does not create strain on the system," Gondek said.

The mayor emphasized the need for a gentle and cautious approach to avoid straining the system and urged residents to continue their water conservation efforts during this critical phase.
