The second phase of Canada’s national dental care program has been rolled out, which will help roughly 1.2 million more Canadians get proper coverage, according to the federal government.

The rollout of the program was negotiated between the Liberals and the NDP as part of both parties’ supply-and-confidence agreement. David Akin explains who else has become eligible, the politics involved and who has voiced their concerns about the plan.
