Canadian navy sailor rescued after falling overboard off Vancouver Island

A member of the Royal Canadian Navy is recovering after being rescued off southern Vancouver Island.

The man fell overboard from a rigid hull inflatable boat Monday afternoon, east of Bentinck Island.

The boat was returning from sentry duties at a nearby military range. The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre launched a full-scale response, calling in the Canadian and U.S. coast guards and the military. Kylie Stanton reports.
