China’s Foreign Ministry on Wednesday reiterated that the U.S. presidential election is “an internal affair” and that they “respect the choice of the American people." Spokesperson Mao Ning said ahead of the official results that China would “continue to view and handle China-U.S. relations under the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation.”
