River swell to alarming levels in the Czech Republic as unusually heavy rains pound the country, brought on by Storm Boris sweeping central Europe. Northeastern areas of the country are particularly affected, with evacuations looming in several places. The rainfall, expected to last until Monday, has already cut off more than 50,000 households off from electricity, while trees toppled by severe wind have stopped traffic in many places. Thousands of firefighters have been deployed.
