How Republicans are reacting to Gaetz pick

From PBS NewsHour.

President-elect Donald Trump has picked Rep. Matt Gaetz, one of his most ardent supporters, to serve as U.S. attorney general.

Gaetz, who is currently under investigation by the House Ethics Committee, has been critical of the U.S. justice system in the past. After a New York jury found Trump guilty in May in his hush money trial, Gaetz called the verdict “the corrupt result of a corrupt trial, a corrupt judge, and a corrupt DA. We will stand with President Trump now more than ever to save the country.”

The U.S. attorney general is a post that is confirmed by the Senate unless the incoming Trump administration pushes his nomination through as a recess appointment.

Lisa Desjardins explains how some Republicans on Capitol Hill are reacting to the announcement.
