In this episode of Minutes With, we sit down with Nick Leeson, the former trader and Rogue Trader, whose actions led to $1.2 billion in losses and the collapse of Barings Bank, one of Britain’s oldest financial institutions.

After doing well at school, Nick fell into the world of finances rising the ladder quickly and gaining expertise in Japanese markets. After being relocated to Singapore to head Asian operations for Barings Bank, Nick found himself between a rock and hard place; a failing financial infrastructure and the fear of personal failure.

Bad decisions and little oversight allowed huge losses to accrue, ultimately ending in an international manhunt, and an 8 year sentence in a Singaporean prison alongside the countries most dangerous gangs.
