Lufthansa fined $4M for discriminating against Jewish passengers

The Department of Transportation has fined Lufthansa a record $4 million for allegedly discriminating against a group of Jewish passengers in 2022 by prohibiting them from boarding a flight. Some individuals were reportedly violating the airline’s mask policy. Officials, however, say Lufthansa treated them all as if they were a single group, despite many not knowing each other. Lufthansa has since apologized, saying it has a zero tolerance policy for antisemitism.
