For years now, the North Wilkesboro Speedway in North Carolina, has sat abandoned. Dormant and decaying, long gone from the iconic days of Nascar Winston Cup races and thousands of fans. Back in 2018, the future wasn’t looking so promising. But, after new support from the state and famous racing driver Dale Earnhardt Jr., the track is back! Renovations have been made with the new 2023, Nascar All Star race taking place at North Wilkesboro on May 21! Join me today as I take a look at how this all happened and how this iconic abandoned location was resurrected.
