Nova Scotia ER say patients waiting 70+ hours for care

Staff at a community health centre in a Nova Scotia say they’re struggling to provide care, highlighting a need for more nurses, beds and quicker transportation to inpatient facilities.

Those constraints came to a head earlier in the week when emergency beds filled-up and staff say some patients had to wait more than 70 hours before being transported to hospital.

Now, a local MLA is stepping in, demanding the province take action. Ella MacDonald reports.
