Prepare to be fascinated and creeped out.

Researchers at Tokyo University in Japan have found a way to attach engineered living skin tissue to robots, giving them a more lifelike appearance and the ability to smile.

The process involves using living cells to create skin, which is then meticulously attached to the robot’s structure through specially designed “V-shaped perforations” in solid materials.

Although the prototype may seem like something out of a sci-fi movie, this innovative technique brings us one step closer to a future where robots possess human-like qualities.
