From Global News.
U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday that the U.S. Supreme Court decision on his tariff authority made presidential power to regulate trade "more powerful" and "more crystal clear rather than less."
Speaking after the ruling, Trump criticized the court’s reasoning, saying, "I can destroy the trade. I can destroy the country. I’m even allowed to impose a foreign country-destroying embargo; I can embargo, I can do anything I want, but I can’t charge $1."
He said that it was not clear if or when there would be any refunds and added, "I guess it has to get litigated."
Trump also said that he would impose a 10% global tariff for 150 days to replace some of his emergency duties that were struck down by the U.S. Supreme Court. Trump said that his order would be made under Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974 and the duties would be over and above tariffs that are currently in place.
