WATCH: Nikki Haley speaks at 2024 Republican National Convention | 2024 RNC Night 2

From PBS NewsHour.

Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, who served as Trump’s Ambassador to the United Nations, spoke at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee on Tuesday, a day that leading Republicans and other featured attendees were focused on the theme of immigration.

Haley, who competed against Trump for the party’s nomination in the primaries earlier this year, directly addressed Republicans who might still be skeptical about voting for Trump.

“We should acknowledge that there are some Americans who don’t agree with Donald Trump 100 percent of the time,” Haley said. “I happen to know some of them. And I want to speak to them tonight. My message to them is simple. You don’t have to agree with Trump 100 percent of the time to vote for him.”

During the convention, delegates will adopt a party platform and former President Donald Trump will formally accept the Republican nomination for president. On Monday, Trump named Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio as his running mate.
