WATCH: Trump defends himself against felony conviction | CNN Presidential Debate

From PBS NewsHour.

Former President Donald Trump denied President Joe Biden’s assertion Thursday that Trump had “sex with a porn star," adding that his felony conviction in a hush money case boosted his fundraising and poll numbers.

Trump was convicted on 34 counts of falsifying business records in a criminal trial focused on payments made to cover up his alleged affair with the adult film actress known as Stormy Daniels.

Trump accused Biden of going after him, describing Biden as “a guy that’s after his political opponent because he can’t win fair and square."

Trump is the first former president to be convicted of a felony crime. He is awaiting sentencing.

The June 27 CNN Presidential Debate was the first time Biden and Trump faced off this election season. It was also the first debate between a sitting and former president.
