Scientists discovered that a molecule called para-tyramine-O-sulfate (pTOS), produced by gut bacteria in pythons, suppresses appetite while preserving muscle mass. Experiments on mice showed significant reductions in food intake without side effects, pointing to potential new treatments for obesity.
