EMERCOM emergency workers, firefighters and police are on-site as smoke rises from destroyed buildings in the Moscow region after Ukrainian drones targeted the Russian capital. Russia downed 34 Ukrainian drones, the defence ministry said, in the largest attack on Moscow since Russia began its offensive in Ukraine in 2022. While the Ukrainian capital Kyiv is regularly targeted by massive Russian drone and missile strikes, attacks on Moscow are much less frequent.
