John Prusak…A quick memorial flipbook

From The Flippest.

Early last week after learning my old friend and former animation teacher John Prusak was in hospice care, I spent the day writing him a letter and drawing him a quick flipbook. I overnight-mailed it, knowing there was a good chance he would likely never see it. Unfortunately that was the case.

Now I’m hoping he gets the message via the cosmic energy of the Universe. It’s a bit of a rambler, but feel free to read it in it’s fullness in the attached photos.

Here’s the shorter version. Mr. Prusak, thank you for always being so generous…as a teacher, as an occasional father figure, and as a friend. You are a man that always exuded a unique peacefulness, deep warmth, and wisdom. Thank you for fostering my love for film and animation, along with countless other film-makers and animators throughout Michigan. Thank you for your direct support and encouragement as an innovator and (very wise) trend-setter, as one of my first ever custom flipbook customers. Thank you for being in the background of my life with a friendly smile…and in a purely Prusak-ian parting punctuation…ending every one of our encounters with a loving Vulcan salute. 🖖

"Live long and prosper.”

Goodbye friend. I love you, and I’ll miss you.
