Austria has become the latest country to introduce new age restrictions on social media.

This legislation comes after two landmark legal cases in the U.S., and as big tech comes under greater public scrutiny.

A New Mexico jury in the U.S. found Tuesday that social media conglomerate Meta is harmful to children’s mental health and in violation of state consumer protection law.

Global’s Touria Izri reports on Austria’s Conservative-led government’s plan to ban social media platforms in the country for anyone under the age of 14.
