Ableton’s Resonators Device is an amazing way to take any audio source and transform it into a synthesizer. You can tune it into a sophisticated extended chord perfect for Jazz House, Liquid Drum and Bass, Jazz Hop and beyond. Using the Filter and Decay parameters you can modulate the sound to create risers and drops as well as morphing textures and pads. I’ll show you how I used it to fill in the atmosphere and create an electronic backdrop for my Jazz House groove featuring LoFi Drums, Shakers, Fretless Bass, Fender Rhodes Electric Piano, and Ambient Guitar.
