Scientists have discovered that a strain of lactic acid bacteria from kimchi can bind and help remove polystyrene nanoplastics from the gut. In tests with germ-free mice, this probiotic doubled the amount of nanoplastics excreted, showing promise for reducing plastic accumulation in the body.
