From Global News.
Iran’s control of the Strait of Hormuz is a big sticking point for the U.S.-led war, but what’s that area actually like from a maritime standpoint?
“What makes Hormuz unique is the geography as you’re always in the shadow of Iran… It’s hazy, it’s always dusty and you never get a clear day in the Strait of Hormuz. The traffic you encounter is massive in terms of the ship size,” says Campbell University Associate Professor Salvatore Mercogliano.
Mercogliano joins the West Block’s Ben Mulroney for more details on the maritime history of the Strait of Hormuz.
