Tensions around the Strait of Hormuz are escalating after Donald Trump gave Iran 48 hours to reopen the crucial energy route. Posting on Truth Social late Saturday, the President warned the U.S. would strike Iranian power plants if it failed to comply.
Iran responded by vowing to shut the strait entirely and warned regional energy infrastructure could be “irreversibly destroyed” if attacked. We spoke to Rowena Binti Abdul Razak from the School of Oriental and African Studies of the University of London.
