Iran: The civilian toll of war | Global News Podcast

From BBC News.

Data examined by the BBC shows the devastating impact of the intense attacks on Iran’s capital, Tehran, since the start of the US-Israeli war. According to the findings, Israel has dropped 3,600 munitions on the city in the last four weeks.

Almost 40 police stations and bases of the paramilitary Basij force have been hit — many in residential areas. Footage gathered by independent journalists from the city’s Resalat area shows a flattened apartment building. Locals say 40 or 50 people were killed in an attack there two weeks ago.

The Israel Defense Forces confirmed they were responsible for the attack, saying they "struck a military target". The US Department of Defense did not respond to BBC’s requests for comment.

We speak to the BBC’s senior international investigations correspondent Nawal Al-Maghafi.
