A 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a car drove into pedestrians in the city of Derby, England, on Saturday night. Seven people were injured.

Local police believe “this is an isolated incident and there is no wider risk to the public,” and say “swift action would not have been possible without eyewitnesses who contacted us about the vehicle’s whereabouts as it was driven away from the scene.”

Although counter terrorism officers were assisting with the investigation, police are currently not treating the incident as a terrorist attack.

None of the victims’ injuries were considered life-threatening.
