The US has rescued a service member from an F-15E fighter jet that was shot down over Iran, US sources told CNN. The status of a second crew member was not immediately clear after the US launched search efforts in the country.

Iran said its military shot down the US fighter jet. State media urged Iranians to look out for the American crew and promised a reward for handing them over.
