President Trump said the Strait of Hormuz “will open up naturally,” in his prime-time address — expressing confidence that global shipping through the critical oil transit route will resume without the need for prolonged U.S. intervention.

“It will just open up naturally. They’re going to want to be able to sell oil, because that’s all they have to try and rebuild.”
