The British government has blocked American rapper Kanye West, known as Ye, from entering the country.
The government acted in response to heavy criticism Ye has faced for antisemitic comments and actions, including selling T-shirts on his website that featured swastikas. Ye has apologized for the comments and attributed them to bipolar disorder, but officials in the U.K. said his visit would “not be conducive to the public good."
He was supposed to appear at a music festival in London this summer. Now, the promoter of the festival says the event has been canceled and refunds will be issued. Ye had been the only announced performer at the event.
