Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann pleads guilty in murder of 7 women, admits he killed an 8th

Rex Heuermann, the man accused in the infamous Gilgo Beach murders on New York’s Long Island, has admitted to some of the crimes which took place between 1993 and 2010.

Heuermann changed his plea from not guilty to guilty on Wednesday to the murder of seven out of 11 reportedly murdered women. The 62-year-old additionally admitted to an eighth murder.

Under the agreement outlined in court, three first-degree murder counts carry consecutive life sentences without parole, while four second-degree murder counts bring additional consecutive terms of 25 years to life.

Heuermann further told the Suffolk County judge he would cooperate with the FBI. In exchange for his plea, prosecutors said they would not pursue further charges related to the eight victims referenced in court.
