From Global News.
Activists behind the Global Sumud Flotilla said on Sunday they were launching what they described as the largest civilian maritime effort yet to challenge Israel’s blockade of Gaza, as boats prepared to leave the port of Barcelona.
Organizers said more than 70 vessels would eventually take part, with 39 boats departing initially from Barcelona and others joining along the route. The effort follows a previous mission that was intercepted last year.
Participants said the flotilla, despite carrying limited aid, was intended as an ongoing action to highlight what they see as human rights violations in Gaza.
"Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu need to fear the people because of their violations. They are both war criminals. But also the Epstein class and all of the other things that they do, they will be made accountable. And we will not stop. So they are the ones afraid of us," a GSF member, Thiago Avila said.
