From This Old House.
It’s utility day, so the 1864 Dutch Colonial in Saratoga is about to get another significant upgrade. Kevin O’Connor finds Richard Trethewey in the street, where excavation is well underway. Richard explains that locating and upgrading major systems like water and sewer lines requires careful planning and coordination of multiple parties. No matter how much planning goes on, there will always be something to discover under the street. Richard and Kevin investigate the old water and sewer lines as they’re uncovered. Then, with utilities supervisor, Jerod Delaney, they discuss the new lines that will be installed, including a second water line that will serve the irrigation system and fire sprinklers.
