Israel and Lebanon have begun a 10-day ceasefire following weeks of cross-border fighting.

"The Israeli army holds and will continue to hold all the places it has cleared and conquered," Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said.
 
U.S. President Donald Trump says leaders from both countries could meet at the White House in the coming weeks.

Residents on both sides are expressing mixed reactions, with some hopeful and others skeptical that the truce will hold.

Displaced families are starting to return home, even as damage and uncertainty remain across southern Lebanon.
