WATCH: Trump reclassified marijuana. Here’s what that means

From PBS NewsHour.

The Trump administration is reclassifying marijuana as a less dangerous drug, changing the way it is regulated and researched.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche signed an order Thursday moving marijuana from Schedule I, reserved for drugs like LSD and heroin, to Schedule III, with drugs like Tylenol with codeine.

The move doesn’t legalize marijuana nationally, but it does make it easier for researchers to study the drug. The reclassification also gives marijuana production companies a huge tax break.
