Immigration minister Lena Diab is under fire after revealing key details about a new policy to the host of a YouTube channel that plugs legal and housing services for newcomers.

“You’re going to hear a lot more on that in the next coming weeks. The idea would be to select people that are not in the major city centres, so it wouldn’t be for example Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, that kind of thing.” Diab said on the podcast.

The Canadian Immigration Lawyers Association sent a letter to Diab, voicing concern the program is being communicated in a piecemeal way through commercial and monetized social media platforms that promote legal services offering a 100 per cent success guarantee.
