Do the Spanish expect this decision to have any impact on the war in Iran? | DW News

From DW News.

Spain has closed its airspace to US warplanes involved in attacks on Iran. This is another sign of the growing rift between Madrid and Washington. Spain has been Europe’s most vocal opponent of the US-Israeli campaign against Iran — Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has called it "reckless" and "illegal". His government has already barred the US from using its two jointly operated bases in Spain. US President Donald Trump has sharply criticised Spain’s stance on the war in Iran, even threatening to cut all trade ties with the country.
