Copenhagen’s hippie haven fears threat from housing plans | AFP

Christiania is a libertarian enclave in the centre of Copenhagen, long a refuge for anarchists, hippies and artists.

Last month its 900 residents, known as “Christianites", begrudgingly agreed to a new public housing development for 300 people.

But some residents question whether the new arrivals will buy into Christiania’s freetown identity.
