Jonathan the Tortoise has roamed the Earth for nearly two centuries. He’s seen world wars, the fall of empires, and now, even his own fake death.

A social media account claiming to be Jonathan’s vet announced the tortoise’s death. The news quickly spread through numerous news organizations.

But the original post was a scam looking to receive crypto donations.
