From Global News.

Hundreds of Cuban women protested on Tuesday against the U.S. embargo implemented by President Donald Trump in a bid to change Cuba’s communist regime. The island nation has felt a profound impact from the energy blockade on its economy, health care system and public transportation.

“It affects us daily, in our families, in hospitals, at home, regarding supplies, and in many other things we need on a daily basis.., Despite these hardships, we women have always, as I always say, managed to pull through.” Ailin Calvo, an official with the Federation of Cuban Women said.

Meanwhile, expats such as Ilbis Piloto living in Miami, Fla., has anxiously watched the events unfold, concerned for the wellbeing of her family members back home.

"Well, look, we are living through a historic moment, truly a historic moment,” Ilbis said, “The country did not betray me. The government betrayed me, the one currently in power. My country is my country. I will be, I will be Cuban, and I was born in Cuba, until the day I die.”
