Rare raw footage showed Donald Trump and Melania Trump at an event in 1999.

Then known by her maiden name, Melania Knavs, the first lady issued a statement from the White House in 2026 indicating that she met her future husband at a New York City party in 1998. The statement was used to "denounce false smears" about ties between the Trumps and Jeffrey Epstein.

The couple later married in 2005 during a wedding ceremony in Palm Beach, Florida.
