Poilievre demands property rights be upheld in BC, responds to latest Liberal floor-crossing | FULL

From Global News.

On Friday in Richmond, BC., Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre demanded the Liberal government officially reinstate the argument that private property comes first after a Supreme Court judge issued a ruling that declared that Aboriginal title over land includes private property last August.

"We want Mark Carney to change his legal directive to make it clear that his lawyers must argue that fee simple property ownership, your home and your business, belongs to you and you first, and that no other claim can supersede that ownership," Poilievre said.

The Conservative leader’s appearance comes a day after Conservative MP Marilyn Gladu crossed the floor to the Liberals, bringing a majority within reach for Mark Carney’s Liberal government.

"I feel badly for Mrs. Gladu’s constituents, the strong majority of whom voted for our conservative vision of an affordable and safe Canada. In fact, and if I can be blunt, under my leadership, she had a massive increase in the Conservative vote in her riding." Poilievre said.

Poilievre went on to suggest that "constituents in [Gladu’s] riding, and every riding, should be able to petition for a byelection whenever a member of parliament changes parties."
